Building Community

Importance of fellowship

Being able to join a community with a common purpose and respect for each other, creates the platform from which Black culture in Calgary can flourish. We believe connecting with and growing as professionals will make our community a more equitable and fair place, establishing our city as a destination for Black professionals in Canada.

MEmberships

Becoming a member

Our membership holds our values up as the aspiration of the Calgary Black Chambers. We have high expectations of our members to represent the Black community in Calgary and beyond.

To become a member, you must first meet separately with two current members and ask for their recommendation. We hold open meetings for non-members so this is generally the best place to come in and start meeting the various people within our group.

After you meet two current CBC members, we’ll ask that you submit your application which consists of a resume and a written paragraph on why you’d like to join.

We have regular meetings so you’re encouraged to check our calendar periodically for the next meeting. If you let us know your email below, we can keep you in the loop about meetings and volunteer opportunities with the group.
