Calgary Black Chambers Speakers Series – Dr. Glory Ovie
July 23, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join our guest speaker, Dr. Glory Ovie, this Thursday evening at 5:00 – 6:00 PM for a guided discussion around crisis management and self-care in ‘our new normal’.
The safety and well-being of your loved ones remain the first priority. You will likely find yourself triaging other essentials such as returning to work or organizing summer activities for your children. Dr. Glory Ovie, PhD offers her wealth of knowledge to the Calgary Black Chambers community as she helps us consider how the COVID-19 pandemic will affect us today and in the long term.
Dr. Glory Ovie is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Education at the King’s University Edmonton. Her research interests include diversity and inclusion, teaching and learning during crisis response and mental health in post-secondary institutions. Her research is currently looking at the intersection between teaching and learning and mental health and well being. She is an educator and published researcher within her field of study.
Please join our community as we learn to leverage self-care as a tool to enhance our mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health as the world shifts its COVID-19 response from the short-term to a long-term view.
